Team Manager Tasks

1. Communicating with your Team

Team App is a club nominated online and app platform used by club officials, team managers and coaches for communicating with the team and scheduling training sessions and matches.  Players or player families will need to download and install Team App in order to receive team and club communication.

For formal communication teams should use the chat and event comments features in Team App.  Some teams also choose to make use of mobile apps like WhatsApp to communicate informally with each other.  Not all families in a team have or use WhatsApp, so it's important that managers use Team App chat or event comments to communicate important news.

Instructions on how to install Team App can be found at Team App Instructions.

2. Scheduling Events for Matches (TeamApp)

Events are created in TeamApp during the season so players can RSVP attendance at matches.

Instructions on how to create events in Team App can be found in this document <link to come>.

3. Match Day Volunteering (TeamApp)

Each match requires around 6-7 volunteer roles to be filled in order for the match to successfully run.

For some teams the volunteer commitment amongst player families is strong and many will throw themselves into match day volunteer roles.  For some other teams, particularly new or inexperienced teams, a roster for match day volunteer roles may be the best approach in order to share the load equally among the team.  Teams and Team Mangers can decide what the best approach to take is.

When you create the match day event in TeamApp, you also create a Duty Roster for all volunteer roles.  Parents and families then assign themselves to these roles, or you can assign them if there is a roster system.

4. Match Day Paperwork and Ground Inspection

Match Day Paperwork

Checklist (what you'll need):

- SportsTG / GameDay login

- Names of the players for each match

- Names of the volunteers for each match

- Printer so you can print the match day team sheets

On match day the team manager must submit match day paperwork to the opposition team manager and the WRFL.  This allows the WRFL to maintain a record of which players participated in games.

The match day paperwork should be prepared and printed prior to the match.

Guides for match day paperwork and how to edit team lists in SportsTG can be found in Documents or via the links below:
