Registrations for the 2023 are now OPEN!
Thanks for your interest in joining West Footscray Roosters Juniors!
Registrations are now open for our 2023 Season. By registering nice and early it means that we can better plan for the teams and season ahead.
If you are registering your child/children for the first time to play Junior footy, please select NEW MEMBER. If your child has played Auskick or is transferring from another Club or Team please select CURRENT MEMBER.
The registration form is set by the Western Regional Football League (WRFL) and it will ask you a series of questions ranging from your contact details, particulars of the child/children you are registering, including any health information that we need to be aware of in order to provide the appropriate support.
If you need help or have any questions about registration please contact our Junior Footy Rooster’s Registrar, Paul on WFRJRegistrar@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you in the red and white in 2023!

Common questions
How much does it cost to register my child?
Registration for our 2023 season is $250.
This is made up of $230 season fee plus $20 Western Region Football League (WRFL) player registration fee. This equates to $17.80 per game for the season. There is also the option to pay $10 towards our ALL-ABOARD fund, for more about this fund see below. You will be asked to pay registration as part of concluding this registration form.
To get started the form will ask you to enter the email address that you would like to receive all footy related information. If you are a current member, please ensure you use your previously registered email address, this will help us keep track your child’s/children’s previous registrations.
We offer a discount on the Roosters Junior Club Fee for families registering two or more children at the same time.
First child: $250
Second child: $180
Third child: $70
Fourth and subsequent child: Free
When it comes to paying the WRFL and Roosters Junior Club Fee, the club provides multiple payment options, including OpenPay. OpenPay allows payments to be made over a range of interest-free installments rather than a single transaction. For more information on OpenPay, and whether it is a good option for you, please visit the OpenPay website: https://www.opy.go com/au/.
If you need some financial assistance paying your child's club fees, please contact our confidential email address at WFRJAllAboard@gmail.com for help.
What is the deadline for registration and payment?
WRFL registration MUST be paid prior to your child attending pre-season training. This is to ensure your child is covered. Club fees are due prior to Round 1 (16 April 2023). Club fees must be paid in order for players to participate in matches.
What is included in my registration?
The registration fees include:
- WRFL insurance
- use of facilities (clubrooms and ovals)
- pre-season age group training sessions
- season team training sessions (including under lights)
- participation in WRFL competition fixture
- accredited coaches at each training session and match
- accredited first aid officer at each match
- training and match equipment
- loan of match footy jumper for the season
My child is joining the club for the first time, is there anything else I need to do?
For new players to the club, or Auskickers who are moving up to junior footy, players will be given the opportunity to attend two trial pre-season training sessions. If players wish to continue pre-season training after the trial sessions, they are required to register with the league (WRFL). Players will need to be registered with the club and pay the club fee prior to playing matches for a team.
For more information, please email us at w.f.roostersjuniors@gmail.com
What equipment do I need to play?
Each player is provided with a jumper for the season but will need to supply their own shorts, socks, boots and a mouth guard to play. All items can be purchased through our clubrooms, either at training or most home games. This year we will be hosting a Junior Season Launch event on April 2nd 2023 between 11am - 1pm. This will be a great opportunity to come down and pick up all your footy items.
We also run a very successful boot swap program. Thanks to the generosity of past players, we have a selection of pre-loved boots of various sizes and brands that are available free of charge to our registered players. All we ask is that players donate their old boots when they are no longer needed. Due to the nature of the program we cannot be certain we will have all sizes available.
As a parent or carer how can I get involved?
As a community club our aim is to build a strong culture of volunteering, engagement and fun. We can't run a successful club without volunteers - you - our parents and carers.
We encourage parents and carers to get involved as much as possible. Every week there’s a range of really simple roles to fill - like time keeping, goal umpire, washing team jumpers and the all-important half time oranges! Many teams implement a roster to share in the fun. For more information visit our Volunteering page.
What is the All Aboard fund?
As part of your registration fee, we ask you to consider donating $10 (or more if you can) towards our All Aboard fund. This fund helps cover league and club registration fees for those families who are experiencing financial difficulty and may not otherwise have the means for their child to play footy. Our All Aboard fund is a great way to support kids who are doing it tough in our own community.
